From my lodgings in Spring Gardens. . . [1 2/3 column essay
on marriage, beginning with the following in Latin,
translated:]
Happy that pair, and that alone,
Whom marriage rites have render'd one;
Whose love's as lasting as their breath,
And knows no period but death!
. . . [at the end of the essay:]
Hail wedded Love! Mysterious Law! true source
Of human offspring, sole propriety
In paradise, of all things common also.
. . . [13 lines] nor in Court amours,
Mix'd dance or wanton mask, or midnight ball,
Or serenade, which the starv'd lover sings
